Birthday Boy

Dominic turned 4 on the 14th of Feb. Wow I really can't believe that much time has passed and that we've had 2 more kids since then. Cole has always told me that I treat Dominic different than the girls. I'm not quite sure about that but he is so dang cute and he has the same dimples as Cole.

Dominic is very much into Batman right now (notice the blanket tied around his neck as his cape). So I called up my talented sister in-law and found out how to do fondant for his cake. Dominic loved looking at the cake and was very particular that I didn't cut into the batman symbol. Funny thing is that when we dished out the cake and ice cream he said he didn't want any of it and ran off to play (brownies are more his thing).

We gave Dominic a nerf gun and he has had fun shooting that thing and playing bad guys. My parents and sister were in town for his birthday and my mom in her talented way made Dominic an amazing batman costume and even better is that she made one in Cole's size too. However, Dominic in his stubborn way refused to put it on so you get to see Cole in his instead.

The day before his birthday we all went to the pet store to get some goldfish. This was a reward/birthday present for Dom mastering all his letters. We got 6 and everyone in the family got to name one. We enjoyed watching them swim around for their short 24 hrs in our home. Yes, they only lasted 24 hrs because when we made a mistake when changing the water. Oh well. No one was too horribly devastated and the kids have some more goals they are working on to get some new ones.

Here are a few things about Dominic:

1. He loves to wrestle, play bad guys, make up games, watch movies, play outside, dig in the dirt and find bugs, jump on the couch, make peanut butter playdough.

2. He loves chicken nuggets, lunchables, chocolate donuts, apples, bananas, carrots and Ranch.

3. He loves his sisters a lot. He and Tess play all day long, he's constantly kissing Claire and he likes to play house or pets with Macie.

4. Cole and Dominic play catch with the football every night before bed.

5. He thinks he's so grown up because he takes showers instead of baths, does his own "cool hair" and he announced to me that because he is 4 he no longer needs naps. Sad for him because I'm not giving that up.

He had his check up yesterday and is 42" tall - 90% and 36lbs - 50%. Tall, skinny, and we can never keep his pants up, even with a belt. His little bum crack is always showing.

We are so glad to have a boy in our house and we hope to be blessed with many more.
