A Little About Tessa . . .

.Tessa is a funny little gal. She loves to wrestle with Cole and the kids and they are pretty rough with her and she doesn't mind at all.

.She can't stand when the older kids go into the bedroom and close the door without her. She will crawl as fast as she can to the door, stand up, whine and bang on the door with her hands until they let her in. . . she loves to play with them.

.She is a funny eater these days . . . not much gets in her mouth becasue she's spitting it back at me and it's not just a spray, huge globs are landing on me.

.When she gets happy or excited she scrunchs up her nose and face and make these loud breathing noises over and over again . . . we laugh so she does it even more.

.She's loving the dishwasher these days, but who doesn't with such a variety of 'toys' at her fingertips! She loves to climb in and on top of things, loves to nuzzle her face in her soft blanket, is cruising around the furniture and likes to practice walking. She says mama and uh-oh and has 4 teeth.

.She's found a real interest in books lately, opening them and reading to herself ( lots of funny babbling when this happens).

.She's a funny little lady and we adore her!!

She's ONE!

I can't believe that this little peanut has turned into this slightly larger little peanut so fast! She's our little adventurer and life wouldn't be the same without her!

Happy 1st Birthday Tessa!!

Indoor Camping

With the cool and wet weather we've been in need of some new indoor activities, so we draped the comforter over the bunk bed to make a tent and did a little indoor camping.

Macie made our fire, a few red blocks and a flashlight, and we enjoyed "roasting" marshmallows, reading books and telling stories.

Pumpkins

My mom, sister and I took the kids to the Lakeview Farms pumpkin patch yesturday. The weather was perfect (cool, crisp, and sunny) and we had a great time.

We took a train ride out to the patch to pick out a few little ones.

Macie managed the wheelbarrow,

Tessa wanted to eat and hold the pumpkins,

And Dominic picked up and examined about 20 pumpkins before he settled on a tiny one that was still pretty green and looked more like a football.

On the trip back in you get to take a boat ride and there are dragons and sharks that come up out of the water.

It was a fun afternoon!

Crazy night in P-town

I just got back from another one of my handsome husband's MalPractice shows. Cole looked fabulous as always and they put on a great show. (Don't you love his outfit?!) My mom came with me this time and we had a great time enjoying the music and people watching.

My mom and I were sitting up in the front( my mom was sitting behind me at this point) and I get a tap on my shoulder. I look up and this man about 40 years old, gray hair, light wash jeans with a gray t-shirt tucked in nods his head and says "Get up".
Me: "No" (embarrassed and look away).
40 year old: "Come on, get up"
Me: "No" ( I turn away not sure what is going on or what to do just hoping he'd walk away)
Him: "Aren't you going to dance?"
Me: "No, I'm married" (I hold up my hand show my ring . . . pause)"to the lead singer"
Him: "You're married?"
Me: "Yep"
Him: "Wow I feel dumb" (said while scratching his head and running his hands through his hair)
Me: "Don't worry there are plenty of other girls to dance with" (this is me trying to be nice, but I'm kinda wigged out and i really shouldn't have said that because just about all the other girls were friends from the school)
Him: "Well how many times have you been asked to dance tonight?" (probably hoping to make himself feel better)
Me: "None . . . well you did, so one." (probably kind of rude of me)
Him: "No, i think I'll go have another beer"
Me: "Good Luck with that"
After he walks away I have a good chuckle to myself and a good laugh with my mom filling her on the details that she couldn't hear.

About 10 minutes later I get a tap on the shoulder. I thought it was my mom, she had been sitting behind me and we'd been talking back and forth. Nope I turn around and it's a young guy with that gross fuzzy black facial hair, tiny build, and wearing one of those lumberjack flannel shirts huge and hanging open (you know the green and black checkered ones).
Him: "Do you want to dance?" (I get slammed by his beer breath and lean way back because he's leaning down right in my face)
Me: "No I'm married."
Him: "Who cares? To who?" (like it really matters!?!)
Me: "To him, the lead" (pointing to Cole)
Him: "What? I thought he was gay!" (more beer breath, I lean farther back and shout even more)
Me: "He's not, we have 3 kids."
Him: mumbles to himself the says "OK then" and walks away.
I had a good full body shudder after he left . . . he was greasy!!! About 5 minutes later I turn around to talk to my mom and he's got his beer breath in her face asking her if she is married too and if she wants to dance. So funny, I couldn't believe it! (I noticed later that those 3 guys were sitting next to each other about 2 chairs back. Apparently they didn't notice that 15 minutes before this all Cole pointed me out in the crowd, said we had just had our 6th anniversary and he sang me a song.)

Ok, so it really wasn't that crazy of a night but oh, we had some good laughs and even though those were terribly awkward moments it made for some funny memories. The show was fabulous, TONS of people were there and we had a great time!!

Crazy Carnivore

My kids LOVE meat . . . chicken, pork, beef . . . all of it! When Macie was very little she became a BIG fan of meat and we thought 'how funny'. Dominic did the same thing. Now at 11 months of age Tessa is a crazy carnivore too! She's been loving it for a month now. She only has 2 bottom teeth, but manages to mash it in her gums while spiting out any veggies that may have gotten in her mouth too.

This picutre is of the night we had swedish meatballs. I put pasta and meatballs on her tray. She tried one bite of noodle, spit it out and then threw the rest of the pasta on the floor and left the meat. She devoured her meatballs and was begging for more. They take after their dad!

Our Soccer Player

This cutie has started soccer. She had her first game last week and had a great time.

She played about 90% of her game, ran her heart out, had some great kicks, and had a HUGE smile on her face the ENTIRE time, it was so stinkin cute!

I often found her waving at me as she ran by - typical girl :)

Her team name is THUNDER and she and her friend Sadie are the only girls on the team.

Dominic managed to keep himself very busy playing in the chalk lines. Many parents kept saying "oh no, where is his mom?" I wasn't about to stop his fun . . . he was already white and I wanted to watch the game.

He showered Tessa at the end of the game too.
